Abe Chacko grew up in Mumbai. In 1971 left for US for higher studies. Raised in a Christian family with 2 sisters – He accepted Christ at 12 yrs of age, and baptized at 16. Following graduation from college while in secular employment, he was in fellowship as well as in the oversight at Highpoint Chapel in Davenport, Iowa for 15 plus yrs. In 1994, God was pleased to use him and his wife Jane as instruments in a new church plant in their home in Clinton Iowa. This church doubled and had to relocate to other quarters. Abe then served as an elder for another 16 yrs. In 2013 a new employment opportunity led to his relocation to the Chicago area were in fellowship at New Life Bible Chapel in Elmhurst,IL. Throughout these years he was privileged to serve Christ on Boards of multiple Christian colleges such as Emmaus & Moody and as under- shepherd at 2 churches for 20 plus yrs .God gave him opportunities to use his gifts in preaching and teaching to several age groups, but particularly High school /College & career classes .
Abe and his wife Jane have 4 sons (all who have moved away from home ). Abe has a clear passion for discipleship within a local church context.; challenging all Christ followers about the responsibility to be an ambassador of Christ 24/7 in the marketplace or wherever Christ has placed them.
In 2021 – they were led to move to Dallas with surprising rapidity. Looking to settle closer to their 4th son in Lewisville/Carrolton area – God led them to Denton & then to Freedom Church Denton.
"Jane/I have enjoyed our fellowship and have grown at Freedom Church & we seen God lead us to be disciple makers & ambassadors of in a new field of International students. Through the prayers & encouragement of Freedom Church's leaders – we have seen the birth of Swagath – a networking event to create a welcoming community for International students. Each day we are in Denton – God’s leading for us being at Freedom Church is confirmed & I feel humbled to be even considered to serve as an elder – because when we relocated here – that was the farthest thing from my mind- especially because of my age. All Jane/I want to be are servants for His Kingdom . Since being here we have had to unlearn a few things & re-learn many things in ministry/theology. God’s pruning shears are always at work , conforming us to His image. We feel proud to be associated with such valiant warriors in the Kingdom. My wife of 44 yrs has been my pillar & my sanctification. I could not have served without her sweet & still small voice holding me accountable while cheering me on. To Jesus alone belongs the glory."
