Prayer Meeting- Tuesday Nights

7pm at the Church Office: 421 East Hickory in Denton

My name is Branden, a deacon over prayer ministry at Freedom Church Denton

I want to invite you to join together with the Body of Christ often and with a purpose

to see Our Father’s will be done here on earth as it is in heaven.

Why Gather Together for the Purpose of Prayer?

  • The first thing that comes to mind is that we have direct access to the Father through Jesus Christ, so we should take advantage of this great privilege. (Eph 2:18)
  • Through our prayers we are able to pray for others to help meet their needs and grow stronger in their relationship with Jesus.
  • We are able to glorify and praise the Creator of the universe and seek His will for the unity and direction of our church.
  • It's no great mystery that the bible, old and new testaments, have a lot to say about prayer. Here are just a few truths about prayer throughout the Word of God;
  • The Lord can be “moved” by prayer. (2 Samuel 21:14 & 24:25)
  • The Lord receives our prayers and hears our supplications. (Psalm 6:9)
  • It delights our Father in heaven when we pray. (Proverbs 15:8)
  • Prayer can drive out the enemy from within the body and move immovable obstacles in our path (Matt 17:18-21)
  • We will receive what we ask for, find what we are searching for and gain entrance where entrance was previously denied. (Matt 7:7& 21:22)
  • Our Father states (and Jesus confirms) that His house shall be a house of prayer for all the nations. (Isaiah 56:7, Matt 21:13, Mark 11:17, Luke 19:46)
  • With one mind, we can join together to wait on the Lord- for direction, wisdom and the pouring out of His Spirit. (Acts 1:14)
  • Prayer is an integral part of meeting together as the body of Christ per the example of the early church modeled by the apostles (Teaching/Fellowship/Breaking of Bread/ Prayer) (Acts 2:42) Prayer can set people free from chains and bondage. (Acts 12:5-19)
  • We are able to provide aid through prayer and thanksgiving on behalf of missionaries in the field who risk their lives for the sake of the Kingdom of God. (2 Cor 1:10-11 & Philippians 1:19)
  • As we gather for prayer, we become a crucial line of defense against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the unseen realm for all the saints. (Ephesians 6:11-18)
  • We are able to make the requests of the body of believers known to God and receive peace and protection over our hearts and minds. (Philippians 4:6-7)
  • Our prayers open doors for the gospel (Colossians 4:2-3)
  • Our prayers can restore those who are sick. (James 5:15)
  • And one more really awesome thing to note, is that our prayers fill up golden bowls in the heavenly realm becoming incense before the throne of the Almighty! Whoa! (Revelation 5:8 & 8:3-4)
